JAMIE WAX
Actor, Playwright & Comedian

Jamie Wax is our only truly local candidate, and is proud of it! "I'm a hometown boy and like any good politician, I have a great concern for the wonderful people of Baton Rouge."

This candidate holds Pink close to his heart. His Aunt Velta died from breast cancer five years ago and Jamie says he can't stand the idea of anyone having to go through - losing a loved one to - this disease. Luckily, there are new developments in cancer treatment every day that decrease this possibility significantly.

Jamie grew up as a middle child, with two sisters and one brother. Even though he is the second oldest, he says he is the smallest in the family, with the "mass of an eighth grade girl." Jamie attended St. George School in Baton Rouge throughout his childhood. One of his first jobs was working in a shoe store where he truly believes he developed his current phobia of feet! Knowing he did not want shoes to be the focus of his future, at age 14, he began dabbling in theatre and comedy.

Once he got to LSU though, he was ready to explore a different kind of comedy that was more about the humor of real people.

Now as an actor who plays five characters in a one-man show, Jamie says that many people get him confused with his characters. He loves the theater, but Jamie says if he could have any other job, he would definitely choose to be the leader of Paul Gates' entourage!
